What is this Twitter thing?

I am getting quite a few emails asking why people use Twitter and why it is important?  Most of the people that I converse with via email or in Private messages are small business owners, bloggers or new internet marketers looking to get a slight edge and save a little money before they invest in large websites, or other internet ventures.   They pay me fair wages to get the most bang for their buck.   So this question comes up, should I use twitter and why?  What is so great about this?

These questions are hard to answer if you are thinking of it as traditional advertising, my opinion would be to think of it as innovative because every single person is looking for something different within that time frame.  So how do you get each one of their attentions at the times they need your product?   Well I have a great set a free videos that will show anyone how to use twitter effectively.
