First time for everything: Paul McCartney to Play Nashville

It’s hard to believe, but in his decades-long career as a member of The Beatles, Wings or as a solo musician, Paul McCartney has never played Music City, U.S.A. On Monday, July 26, McCartney will perform in Nashville for the first time ever.

Macca is bringing his Up and Coming 2010 Tour to the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Monday, June 7 via the Bridgestone Arena box office, all Kroger locations, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Although this is the former Beatle’s first performance in Nashville, it’s not his first trip to the Tennessee city. In 1974, McCartney and his family spent six weeks in Music City, staying at an area farm owned by Curly Putnam. McCartney’s stay at that farm inspired the Wings hit “Junior’s Farm.”
