GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) — One of the first speakers at a convention of Tennessee tea party groups on Saturday asked attendees how they feel about being portrayed as "the bad guy" of American politics.

The National Tea Party Convention scheduled for this week in Nashville has hit a major pot-hole in the road, threatening to knock the wheels off the controversial and sometimes confused political movement.
Fighting within the group over money and leadership has caused two of the main speakers for the event, Republican Reps. It's been unusually cold the last few weeks. I guess since January doesn't feel like July, and it actually still even snows sometimes in the winter, all this global warming stuff must be a bunch of B.S. Right? Plus, Sean Hannity said on Fox news the other night that "2009 was the coldest year on record." So I did some research. Fact is, 2009 is the 5th warmest on record...oops. As a writer and a tutor/professor in a local university, I have been appalled at the lack of preparation new freshman have as they enter college for the first time. I cannot count the amount of times I have had young men and women cry and say, "High School never prepared me for this!"

I have talked with High School teachers and they realize that they are lacking the support needed to teach and train students for a college career and a career in the professional world.
